RECOMMENDED classical GUITAR EQUIPMENT

It can be tricky to find a good classical guitar at an affordable price. The quality and price vary dramatically as classical guitars can vary from £40 - £16,000! This guide will hopefully help you navigate the minefield.

Full-size, 3/4 size, or 1/2 size?

As a general rule, if the student is in primary school (ages 6-10) go for a 3/4 size, if the student is in secondary school (ages 11+) go for a full-size.

A 1/2 sized guitar is very small and suffers from intonation and tuning problems, it is best to avoid them all together and go for a 3/4 size. A 7/8 size is in-between a 3/4 and a full-sized guitar.
